Wetzel Log Cabin [read story]
The Wetzel Christian Log Cabin and the C.N. James log cabin are the only two remaining original log cabins in the State of Kansas. The Wetzel cabin was moved from it's original site several years ago, leaving OUR C.N. James cabin the only existing cabin on it's ORIGINAL SITE!

Welcome to Augusta Historical Museum and the C.N. James Log Cabin located in Augusta, Kansas.
Come and visit our log cabin, the oldest house in Augusta, Kansas. It was built in 1868 and listed in the National Register of Historical Places. It housed a trading post, school house in the upper loft, Post office, Church, and a popular gathering place for early pioneers.
Our museum sits besides our log cabin and is full of local artifacts , including one of the best arrowhead collections in the mid west.
We are opened 7 days a week..9-4 weekdays, 1-4, Sat. and Sun.
