Our voluteer appreciation party had to be postponed from February 21st to March 14th because of the beautiful snowfall we received.  The February date brought to mind visions of Valentines because, after all, we at the Augusta Historical Society LOVE our volunteers.  Yes, love is our theme for the party, even though it's in March.  Volunteers are vital to any non-profit organization.  Without them we wouldn't be able to open the museum on weekends and host our events and fundraisers throught the year.  Many of our volunteers work behind the scenes as well mowing, painting, pulling weeds, cleaning gutters, etc...  I am so thankful to my volunteers who love and care about our musuem and preserving Augusta's history.
Someome once said "Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless"
My sentiments exaclty.
