We begin each new year with our appraisal fair. We have experts in various fields to appraise items that individuals bring to our fair, to find out their value. Antiques of all kind, guns, carpets and many other items find their way to us during this event. We usually have this event in March. We serve coffee and cinamon rolls. IT's FUN!

Our next and biggest fundraiser is our Spring Tea, usually the first of May. On Friday and Saturday beginning at 1 P.M. each day we serve women "all dressed up" (approximately 10 tables) and then another group at 3 P.M. We serve tea and finger food. This is fully booked every year.
In the fall we hold our Yesteryear Fair, featuring blacksmithing, flintknapping, log hewing, music, Walnut Valley Muzzleloaders display, model buildings, steam engines, and narrow gauge train, as well as horse-drawn buggy rides. Crafts of the 19th century are featured inside the cabin. This year we will have a ham and bean supper. This event was previously held in the summer, but the board decided to try October and slightly change the theme.
In November is our Chili Feed and Pie Auction. Our generous "Friends of the Museum" make the most wonderful pies and donates them to us to sell. Chuck Korte donates his expertise and auctions them to the people in attendance. Along with the pie auction is also a chili feed.

We also setup booths at various events throughout the year where there are lots of people. We sell our gift shop goods.
At Christmas Santa Claus comes and visits the C. N. James cabin and talks to all the little ones on his knee. We serve hot cider for this event for everyone needs warming up after the Christmas Parade.
